Natural, Unobtrusive Wedding Photography

For me wedding photography is about people, for people. My passion lies in capturing the most beautiful, natural images of your wedding day that you can enjoy for a lifetime. As a Manchester wedding photographer, I cover Lancashire, the UK and across the world shooting destination weddings.

Recently engaged, or just started the planning process?

You’re about to embark on a wonderful whirlwind journey, so congratulations to you both, enjoy the ride. Planning a wedding can be a daunting task, but with so much help out there, keep a cool head and make it about you two. The result will be a day all about you, that you’ll both remember forever. Yet, sorry to put a minor spanner in the works, when people say that the day will pass in a blur, they’re not wrong. That’s why you need a fantastic documentary photographer and why you need me.

Memories

After the best day of your life, what else remains? Photographs! Snapshots that spark a series of memories and emotions to come flooding back. When looking for a wedding photographer in Manchester, find the person you connect with, whose images you love and whose photographs make you feel as if you’re part of the party. Have a look through my blog – these are some examples of the many memories I capture for the couples who chose me.

Weddings are a once in a lifetime event to organise and where YOU take centre stage. It's a new world to most, and with hundreds of suppliers out there, you need to pick the ones which bring experience, talent and the joy you want with you on your special day. I bring all of that, plus my Boltonian accent – what more can you ask for!?

Real Moments

As a lover of documentary photography, I believe that the natural, in-the-moment photos, are the ones which you’ll treasure the most. Your wedding won’t need directing – you’re doing the organising in advance. Of course I take group shots, these are Christmas presents for the following year, but the best photographs I take, are the ones that are unpredictable. The groomsman gone wild, the nosy neighbour taking a peak at the bride or those cheeky children pulling that ‘butter-won’t-melt’ face as they desperately try to climb up the teepee. These are the memories you’ll want to spend every anniversary looking at, giggling over, and reminding Uncle Joe of his hilarious facial expressions during his ever so passionate rendition of Mr Brightside.

Timeless

Fashions will change, hairstyles will become dated and people will age, but your photographs will remain timeless. As a photographer, I don’t follow the crowd. The images I capture are of what I see on the day that are often missed in the flash of a moment. I can be there with you from the start until after the first dance. I’m loving the evening shots at the moment; people in Manchester certainly know how to party!

We’ll be spending a lot of time together on your wedding day. Although I try to be as unobtrusive as possible, you’ll need to like me. Now, I’m pretty likeable, plenty of people tell me this, but the only way to know for sure is to arrange a meeting and in the meantime, check out some testimonials below.

People are what makes me love what I do, and I most definitely love my job. I mean, people can come in all sorts of packages, but at a wedding we're there to show support, witness an important event and to have a cracking time. As a photographer this is a dream; I see tears of happiness, tears of laughter and tears of all emotions. I see everyone being their finest self with their feelings written all over their faces. So yes, I love my job.

Here is my ‘Manchester Wedding Photographers Venue List of Distinction.’ Set in no particular order, it features some of the finest hotels and locations in Manchester. They all scream of the cities industrial history and all of them offer couples opportunities to create the wedding of their dreams.

A quirky wedding venue with a difference. Hold your wedding in a huge, drained Victorian swimming baths. With many dramatic and unique spaces for photo opportunities, this venue is one of Manchester’s finest, and one you or your guests will never forget.

A beautiful venue for a wedding. ‘The Bays’ and ‘The Cotton Sheds’ have a raw industrial aesthetic, that is ideal for both contemporary and traditional ceremonies. Victoria Warehouse has so much character and we just love to photograph weddings here. Every one is different, as the space can be used for so many different purposes. A fantastic backdrop to any Manchester wedding day.

Great John Street Hotel

This hotel is part of the Eclectic Hotel Collection – and the word eclectic certainly describes it well. It’s a fantastic urban venue for a wedding. With its rooftop lounge and playground, you can have so much fun deciding from the many different options available for your wedding.

Another one of the Eclectic Hotel Collection, in Manchester city centre. It’s the perfect venue for both large and smaller weddings, with a terrace that has spectacular views over Manchester’s rooftops. I adore the quote on their website that says, ‘it’s like staying at a rich friends with extremely good taste’ – we all need a friend like that and if not, that’s when you visit the King Street Townhouses.

Set in the Castlefield area of Manchester, with its unique bridges and canals, this venue can cater to so many different couples tastes and needs. Surrounded by so many fantastic places for photographs, it truly is a wedding photographer’s dream.
