Energy Packed Rivington Hall Barn Wedding

This was such an Energy Packed Wedding Rivington Hall Barn Wedding. Honestly, the feel good vibes from the start of the day and right the way through Gemma & Tommy’s wedding was just incredible!

It was my lovely Aunty Elaine that recommended me to Gemma & Tommy and I’m forever grateful to her for doing so. We met them both at our home a few months before the big day and I knew right then that this was going to be some party!

Wedding Day Rivington Hall Barn

Tommy was getting ready with the lads at their family home, which is about 5 minutes away from my house. We popped round there to grab a few shots of the guys necking a few shots! They don’t do things by halves in Bolton. We then made our way to meet Gemma who was getting ready with her Mum and bridesmaids. The rain outside was just relentless, but this did not dampen any spirits as everyone was really excited and the Prosecco was flowing nicely.

Rivington Barn looked amazing when we turned up. Tommy was here by now and the room was filling up nicely. Tommy took his place at the end of the aisle and waited for his bride to be to join him. They had a beautiful ceremony filled with lots a laughter. If these guys were nervous, they didn’t show it that’s for sure.

After the ceremony, the rain was still pouring outside so everybody made their way to conservatory to congratulate the newly weds. This give us the opportunity to get a few group shots whilst everybody was together.

What An Entrance

Everybody took their seats for the wedding breakfast and awaited the entrance of Gemma and Tommy back into the main room. What an entrance! The music blasted and they entered the room with some incredible dance moves. The room was just bouncing at this point with every mobile phone in the venue pointed at the newly weds. This was a taste of things to come. First things first, food!

Hilarious And Emotional Speeches

After some amazing food, it was time for the speeches. Gemma’s Mum give a lovely heart felt speech.

Gemma had told me back at bridal prep that they had something lined up for poor Tommy. She had somehow seen the first opening lines to his speech. This went along the lines of “I want to just say how amazing a look today” So Gemma had arranged that straight after he had said the line that Carly Simon’s “You’re So Vain” would be played. Sure enough, Tommy opened up his speech with the words predicted, and as “You’re so vain” blasted out, and everybody in the room sang the words to him, the look on his face was just priceless, poor Tommy!

A Walk Around Rivington Hall Barn

We finally got a break in the weather and it actually stopped raining. We made the most of this by having a little walk around the venue and got some great photos of Gemma and Tommy alone. These two just bounce off each other, lots a laughs and banter.

A First Dance To End All First Dances

Time to get this show on the road. What a first dance! I mean these two have some serious moves, they had everyone surrounding the dance-floor as they danced to Luther Vandros. Before long, the dance_floor was packed with guests strutting their stuff to live music. What a Party, what a wedding!

Rivington Hall Barn Wedding

Rivington Hall Barn is located in Lancashire, near Chorley and Bolton. It’s a Tithe barn that possibly dates back to the between the 9th and 15th centuries. The structure was restored, altered and enlarged in 1905 by Jonathan Simpson for Lord Leverhulme, a Bolton celebrity back in the day. It is a Grade II Listed building.

I absolutely love photographing weddings at Rivington Barn. It is surrounded by the most beautiful countryside as far as the eye can see. The barn itself has so much character and is the perfect setting for a wedding. Being a local lad, I have captured many weddings here. Definitely one of my favourite venues.
